The most common WiFi problems in your garden or on the terrace
1.
Device breaks quickly
2.
WiFi but no internet connection
3.
No automatic transition between indoor and outdoor WiFi
4.
Wi-Fi range outside is too limited
Tips
Only use outdoor WiFi equipment
Do not install an indoor WiFi device outdoors. It would quickly break due to rain and moisture.
Choose an outdoor WiFi device that is resistant to driving rain, or place it sheltered from the rain.
Use outdoor data cable
Provide a data cable to where you want to place your WiFi device. Do this carefully. An error or defect in the cabling is often the cause of no or a poor connection.

Only use outdoor data cable outdoors. Outdoor data cable is resistant to all weather conditions, such as rain, sunlight and temperature fluctuations.

You can extend the outdoor data cable up to 2 meters into your home. If you need more than 2 meters of cable to reach your modem, switch to an indoor data cable for the rest of the route.
Outdoor data cables are not permitted indoors because they contain flammable matter and may release harmful substances.
The right WiFi equipment in the right location
Place your WiFi device in a location where there is as little material as possible (wall, shrubs, garden shed) between the WiFi device and the devices that use WiFi.
Ubiquiti has a range of oudoor WiFi access points. Depending on the location of the WiFi access point and the size of your garden, you have different options. You can opt for a device that covers a limited surface area. There are also solutions that give you a WiFi range of up to 100 meters outdoors.
Maak van je WiFi binnen en buiten één netwerk
Ensure that your WiFi network indoors and outdoors merge seamlessly. Setup the outdoor WiFi access point with the same name and .password of the WiFi network you have inside.
Ideally, WiFi devices indoors and outdoors are controlled by the same "controller". This way you can optimise your WiFi network.
